The Sleeping Giant Poets Guild extends it’s thanks to the Hamden Arts Commission for their sponsorship and support of our March Event, especially the great food and refreshments they provided.
Over 60 people attended our first Evening of Poetry featuring Richard Tillinghast. Thanks to everyone who participated in the open mic. Guilford Poets Guild, Wednesday Night Poetry, Curly’s, The Poetry Institute were some of the representatives of Connecticut Poetry participating. In addition to their readings, they brought flyers about their venues for the table where Tony Fusco, President of the Connecticut Poetry Society shared information about CPS membership, benefits and activities.
Richard Tillinghast chatted with us in between his poems about their history, and about his writing. What a setting. It felt like we were in his living room for a discussion among friends. And we were. Connecticut has many wonderful poets. Thank you to those who shared your work with us this past Friday.
